Titan is looking to interview CS majors in their Junior year, interested in systems administration, web development, networking, and software engineering. These positions would be for Titan SIS (Systems Integration Sector), most likely in our Intelligence Services division. We provide IT and systems support for government clients such as NSA, Navy, the National Reconnaissance Office, and other sectors of Titan.
Titan is a growing company (Currently over 12,000 employees - 1200 in the SIS sector), with over 90% of our personnel holding clearances (most Top Secret / SCI or higher). Although we're growing rapidly, we're looking to remain agile and bring in young technologists to keep our perspectives fresh and broad.
Some of the current technologies we're looking to have interns working with include:
-Web development with PHP and MySQL/PostgreSQL on Apache; some .NET work, too.
-Linux system administration (RedHat, Gentoo, and Fedora Core)
-J2EE Development and systems engineering with WebLogic and Tomcat
-Network engineering with new packet-loss remediation protocols
-Network application development in C++ with proprietary traffic protection libraries
-Work on Government proposal development and review teams
We're looking to find out what kinds of interests and skills students have out there, and we'll be making decisions in 6-8 weeks to fill anywhere between 10 to 15 positions from a few schools in VA. (Currently, UVA, Tech, and UMW are on the list, as we're going by alums on our team.) We'll be taking a few from each school, for internships at our Chantilly, Reston, and perhaps Suitland locations. There may be a couple of positions in Tampa, FL -- but I haven't heard details on that yet.
These internships will *not* be for coffee gophers and file clerks! We're looking for technical people who want to gain hands-on experience in the government contracting world.
Out of these 10-15 internships, the most successful and those most interested will go on to submit for their security clearance, and will be offered a full-time position to start when they graduate in 2006.
The current requirements are CS majors in their Junior year, with a 3.3 GPA or higher. Students should know that a successful internship program will result in submission for a security clearance for potential employment on a contract, so they should understand that this requires US Citizenship and will entail a thorough background investigation by the Government. Resumes can be sent directly to me, at christopher.todd@titan.com. Students should include a brief note (a couple of sentences) as to what their career interests are.
We'll only be able to interview perhaps 5-6 students, so we encourage those who are seriously interested in working in the Government/Defense contracting arena to apply.
